About Us:
The journey started back in 2000, when Josh Larrabee began his first business venture, Natural Image Landscaping. For years, he created beautiful outdoor living spaces for hundreds of clients. However, Minnesota winters were long and he needed a project to keep him out of mischief ;-). On a snowy December day in 2010, Josh and his father, Jeff, designed the first Tempest Wood Splitter. And so began his second business venture!
Josh posted a video of the first Tempest Wood Splitter on YouTube, and it went viral. Orders were coming in, and Josh convinced his wife, Christina, to quit her banking job to help him run the business. After 6 years of manufacturing and selling hundreds of machines. Tempest was acquired by Wood-Mizer in 2016. We are now a Timbery Sawmill (a bandsaw mill for homeowners) dealer. Little did they know, that Sawmill would lead to their third business venture!
It was like Christmas morning every time they sawed into a log. Josh and Christina saw the beauty and potential in live edge slabs. This was the perfect creative outlet they had been searching for! After spending hours and hours on Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube, they decided to bring their ideas to life.
Josh and Christina now spend their days turning wood, not only into furniture, but beautiful pieces of art! This is their true passion, and they put their heart and soul into every piece made. They hope you love your new purchase as much as they love making it.
